Seriously, the World Cup starts on Friday. How the hell is there not a thread yet?
USA > England
USA > Algeria
USA > Slovenia
GOGOGOGO
Yeah Id have to agree with B.u.S, you americans might be good at your own sports, like American Football, but when it comes to Association Football, leave it to us ;D
Feel free to qualify by trouncing Slovenia and Algeria though.
I don't think any other country even plays American Football except for the U.S.A.
I don't know much about soccer (as the D-U-M Americans call it), but let's just hope there's no more Zinedine Zidane actions, eh? After all... it's *foot* ball, not *head* chest.

As a man born and bred in England I must disagree with your statement :P USA hasn't got anything on England at all and won't be a threat to us - especially as the only good player in MLS is David Beckham OH WHOOPS HE'S ENGLISH TOO :D
Yeah, despite England attempting to ban England shirts (and I'm being serious) we are still all wearing them in protest at the stupidity of our nation.
Yeah, you're right, that Landon Donovan guy isn't any good, right? You know that only 4 people on the US team spend their time playing in MLS?
Please, England. Go ahead and think that the US will be pushovers. Go ahead and look past our match. Just don't be surprised when you get burned.

I'm definitely worried about England's chances against the US, we can't afford to turn up expecting a comfortable win. As Newp says, Landon Donavon is a top quality player, and there are others, such as Clint Dempsey who are definitely capable of performing against anbody. If we slack off at all, we'll be given a very rude awakening...
I'd happily take a scraped 1-0 win against the US, which would hopefully put us on the way to topping our group.
Well... England blew it today in the World Cup.
I mean they literally BLEW it. They had the game all but sewn up and their goalie made a dumbass error that cost them an out-and-out win.
Well, the USA played....ok-ish, and if it hadn't been for our keeper you guys woulda most probably lost, but hey ho, we'll see how the group goes. We should still win it, imo.
Silly keeper, using oven gloves instead of keeper's gloves... *rant

If the US had been awake in the first few minutes, the US would have probably won. But hey, its not the what if's that count, but what actually happens on the field. Assuming both the US and England make it through, it's going to come down to goal differential, it seems.

Is that what you guys call it? We call it goal difference...after all its not the dy/dx of goals :D
Forget about Calculations-since that almost unbelievable victory of Japan I have decieded that all prognoses are for Chumps!
Karma is a bitch, isn't it France?
You know, I wish they would stop play soccer during all the vuvuzela concerts. Seriously, I can't stand it whenever someone scores a goal during a lifting rendition of "Sounds of Angry Hornets".
To be serious now, I've only seen one of the current World Cup games (USA vs England) and I really don't care who wins in the end.
Looks like the U.S. just squeaked to another tie. xD I wonder if they can actually win the Cup if they keep tying like that.

If FIFA hired competent officials, the US would have won that game. More importantly, though, the US control their own destiny going against Algeria. Win and IN.
At least Portugal showed the Happy Northern Honeckers where the Hammer hangs. The thought of praising Kim Kong Very Ill for Victory is a little...icky.

Ha, at the very last minute...like in a movie! Looks like we´re in for a Tea/Teutonen-Showdown!
I think the much maligned England would like a word...
Ehh, who am I kidding, you USA guys did okay, but hey look you did better than Algeria and Slovakia, and even Mother England.
But thanks for setting up a nice World War Two showdown for us to play. Just a side note...we're gonna win anyway, so no need to storm the pitch in the 89th minute, and claim to save us from defeat, okay? :D
But yeah, I'm totally non-bias when it comes to the world cup...

The Beatles were shit, and so is our football team, any other questions?
Edit: I haven't told you in particular yet, JackO, but please don't include the images in posts you quote. It stretches the thread more than it ought to be. Just letting you know - Star

Nope, I think that about covers it, lol.
The U.S. is out of it. Now if we can get those lazy Brits out of it, we'll be good to go.
Yo zero, what's a poule? We came second in our GROUP
and then got owned by Germany, however, I will now parody everyone that I plan to delete on facebook;
HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY NOT NOTICE THAT THE BALL WAS OVER THE LINE!?! *rant
The overall flow of the game would have been different with that goal, and we'd have obviously won. :censored:
Bobbies are sore losers, aren`t they? Let`s hope the next Team will finish off the Germans.
I don`t care who is going to do the deed, as long as the Piefkes just don´t win! Britain deserved todays disaster, however. I`ve seen Jackals with more power! Lions,BAH!

Been there, done that. TWICE. But yeah, Brits got screwed.
Ghost goal or not, we certainly deserved to be thrashed...
I think World Cup 2010 will definitely be swept under the carpet with most England fans - awful performances, "that" goal/non-goal, and some of the worst defending from any England team in recent memory... not something we'll be happy to think back to!
Can't really see beyond Argentina v Brazil in the final, which would be an absolute cracker of a match.
I see the whole World Cup just kinda being swept under the rug. This World Cup has pretty much been a disaster, IMO. Between the security issues, the vuvuzelas, the terrible officiating, etc, I'm sure FIFA just wants to get this over with and get the hell out of SA.

I completely agree, it's not exactly been the festival of football FIFA had expected, but I imagine they'll somehow manage spin it into one of the best World Cups ever... Anyway, it's not long 'till it's over, then we can look forward to the next World Cup in Brazil. I suppose whilst there may still be security issues and poor officiating - at least there won't be vuvuzelas.

I disagree, referee made a terible mistake, everynody saw the ball in except him and his asssitnat, but even with that goal Germany deserve to win so far, they play much better than England, Germany is right now the best team int his strange championship.
let's see what happen in Argentina vs. Germany.

Let's hope there won't be any vuvuzelas. I believe it was the Los Angeles Dodgers that had vuvuzela night at one of their baseball games which means they might catch on as an international phenomenon. Anyway, I'm looking forward to watching this Brazil-Netherlands match. Brazil gets all of the press, but the Netherlands are a very good team that no one talks about. I hope they win.
I'm rather embarrassed that a few top people in my favorite sport (NASCAR) have said "The U.S. is out of the World Cup; now stop focusing on this piece of crap sport and let's get down to some REAL sports." :death:
I mean, I like Nascar more than soccer, or, what should literally be called Football because you use your foot 90% of the time, but this kind of bullshit is stupid as hell to me.
It *is* a professional sport and it's definitely a lot more than just going around and around in circles. Those who say what you have, have certainly never seen a Nascar race in their lives and don't know WTF they're talking about.
Boring? Maybe. But then again, so is soccer. You spend... what is it... like 50-75 minutes watching the ball go from one end of the field to the other and maybe 5-10 minutes of actual scoring. :P
In other words, don't knock someone else's sport.
HUREREI UMS ECK... the bloody Piefkes have won in a Landslide! Now they´re going to be unbearable! I rather wished Ghana would have won yesterday, I liked them!
THERE IS A GOD!!! HEROISMO!SABIDURIA!HERMOSURA!EVERYTHING GOOD IN WORLD CUP!!! EVIVA ESPANA!
