So you enjoy anime? Well, I would assume that most people here do... and you enjoy manga? Again... I'm pretty sure most people here do... but what about graphic novels? Those very long comic books with a massive plot, how do you like them?

I personally got into graphic novels through Watchmen, by Alan Moore, and became a bit of an Alan Moore fanboy, as I now also have V for Vendetta, From Hell, The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen, and Snakes and Ladders.

I find the style of the storytelling so much easier to get into than a book, through the visual elements of it, although I should probably check out some other authors, besides Alan Moore... but I don't really know anyone else who is good at writing graphic novel plots, obviously I could check out the artists that did some of the ones I like... but I thought making a topic here in case anyone knew of any decent graphic novels/authors would be a good idea too.  :gunsmilie:

I have a poor ability to visualize things when there aren't any pictures - the descriptions of actions and places just don't seem to coalesce into what they are supposed to in my mind, so you think I'd love graphic novels... but oddly enough, I haven't read but maybe one of them... The Death of Superman, I think it was...

I really wish I could read some of the DC ones about some of the key events in the universe - such as the Anti-Monitor fight and where Batman got his back broken by Bane - granted, these are probably only in comic form, but if someone ever collected them into a graphic novel, that'd be cool   :gunsmilie:
Welp... I'm fucked...

Just today I got a short graphic novel, The Killing Joke... by Alan Moore which if you haven't heard of... details how the Joker came into being as The Joker and such (that's what I think its about... I'm gonna read it tonight xD)... but there are some about Batman that are around that I've seen

Why does that remind me of the time the Joker killed the second Robin?

But yeah... if I had access to a bookstore that had graphic novels and the money to do so, I'd probably buy a lot of them. I've always been interested in the comics but never really liked having to collect thousands of issues... I don't have space for them all, for one.

Being a big Comic Fan, I have a few, Alan Moore, Mark Millar and such stuff, but mainly Collection Paperbacks of Comics which were originally sold Issue by Issue, from Marvel, DC and Dark Horse, my favorite Publisher!
