Hmm....nope, better not touch that one with a 10-foot pole....

I WILL say that stuff like "turn off all your electricity for an hour" and other such gimmicks bug me.  Apart from the potential strain to the grid from everyone turning everything back on at the END of said hour - you're really gonna make a bigger difference if you try to work in less drastic ways to reduce electricity usage EVERY day.

My point was more about irrelevant thread necro-ing than the fate of the Earth, but if you'd like my views on climate change and the like they are as follows;

Assuming current theories and predictions about climate change and CO2 emissions are correct, then indeed, something must be done, on a long term scale by lots of people, but I think that a selfish attitude in society will stop a lot of people from reducing their emissions on a long term basis, etc. so if science is correct, were pretty much fucked anyway.

I like a few of the alternative theories with climate change, you know like solar flares etc. mainly because if they're true it'd mean we're not fucked. But seriously? I dunno, I've tried to reduce my carbon emissions where possible, and mainly I just hope we're not fucked. :D

Anyway, that's my nice and selfish "I'd rather the planet I live on wasn't destroyed, because I'd die" attitude to climate change.

You know what we need, we need a giant forklift, bigger than the one Al Gore used, and make the graph showing the increase of CO2 emissions 10X as big as all others. We can do this, we CAN make a difference.
Also, the graph would be digital, no trees used!
